  What’s the difference between ADHD pills and caffeine pills?
  

  I know that ADHD/ADD pills contain a certain amount of meth and other substances, but they give the same effects as caffeine does! What’s the point of taking Adhd/add pills then?

  They work completely differently. The goal of a drug isn’t just to get a certain effect. You need to get the effect by treating the underlying cause. For example, say you want to run at a certain speed, and you have a ball and chain attached to you. Yes, you can exert yourself extremely hard to achieve your desired speed, but cutting off the ball and chain before you run is the better solution.
  Caffeine improves alertness temporarily by competing with adenosine receptors in the brain. Ritalin works on increasing the levels of dopamine in the brain in order to increase actual attention span. They’re not even remotely the same thing.
